bangkai adalah persidangan

     – “Instructions for Discovery,” dalam A Theory of Birds oleh Zaina Alsous

kamu mungkin bertanya mengapa
aku membawa burung-burung ke pemakaman
gagak tak pernah lupa
sebuah pembunuhan mereka yang pertama ajarkan
bagaimana menguburkan
orang mati namun seiring waktu
kita lupa cara
berduka kita belum menyesal
juga mereka
menghakimi kita dari atas dahan-dahan
dimana mereka membincangkan
ritual kita mengamati kita
bersinar dalam duka cita
